The movie tells the story of two brothers, Vijay and Ravi Verma, who follow different career paths: Vijay is a smuggler and Ravi the policeman who is asked to hunt Vijay down. Vijay Verma (Amitabh Bachchan) and Ravi Verma (Shashi Kapoor) are the sons of a trade unionist, Anand Verma(Satyen Kappu), who was defeated and disgraced by the management of his firm using his family as bait. Unable to bear the public disgrace father deserts the family, and the sons are raised by their mother(Nirupa Roy)who brings them to Bombay City, who suffers the trials and tribulations of a poor single mother. Vijay Verma, the elder brother, grows up with an acute awareness of his father's humiliation and is victimized for his father's supposed misdeeds. In the process of fighting for his rights Vijay, who starts out as a boot polisher and becomes a dockyard worker in his youth, becomes a smuggler and a leading figure of the underworld.

This is a film about two persons and a wall that blocks their path. Faced with the wall, one of them immediatelly and resigned submits, while the other refuses to admit defeat. In various ways he tries to surmount this obstacle - always falling. Finally, in despair but not admitting defeat, he smashes a hole in the wall with his head, paying for victory with his life... Now all the other has to do is bend down a little to pass through the hole. His path is open - at least as far as the next wall... A wall blocks the path of two people. 小纪和小凯，两个在狱中度过青春年华的少年，走出禁锢的牢笼后，面对久别的亲人与环境的现实，他们该如何向前？如何才能追赶岁月所遗留下来的人生空白？而父子之间那道看似无形，却具体存在的高墙，又该如何翻越？

Its a story of Basheer, an author who experiences his prison life. In it he finds friendship, loneliness, fear and finally love, but that remains questionable.

An experimental film from the co-director of acclaimed "Kapi, Vode, Ratnici". Very dark and surreal imagery, interesting, unusual camera work. Almost no plot. First half of the film displays a girl trapped behind some walls. She stumbles around trying to find a way out, and to see what's going on in the outer world. Her frustration grows as she cannot find a way out. Then she suddenly sees a man literally walking through a wall... No sound. Although the original had sound, at the beginning of the film there is a title card saying: "Sound of this film has not been preserved".
