“朝鮮人として誇り高く生き、朝鮮人同士の結束を大切に”と両親に育てられてきた在日三世の大成は、朝鮮学校に通う高校3年生。親友の玄基とつるんでは、なんとなく毎日を過ごしている。ところがある日、姉とチョッパリ（日本人）の結婚話や、幼なじみの奈美にチョッパリのボーイフレンドがいるという噂話を聞かされ、少なからず動揺。しかも、野球部のエースとして出場した日本の高校生との親善試合で大敗を喫し、自信も失ってしまう。玄基が止めるのも聞かず野球部を離れる大成。彼は、生まれて初めて朝鮮人でも日本人でもない自分を見つめ直すことに。そんな中、奈美の大事にしていた楽器・ヘグムの弓を壊した不良グループに仕返ししてやった大成は、奈美に野球を再開するように勧められる。そして予選試合の日。朝鮮人であること、自分らしく生きていくことに目覚めた彼は、晴れやかな表情でマウンドに立つのだった。
