英勋得知自己暗恋的静姐姐竟然和自己的班主任有不伦关系时，内心非常痛苦又无从发泄直到他上了大学，可是在大学中的英勋依然没有摆脱痛苦。用冷漠把自己包装起来的英勋总是用冷漠的方式对待身边发生的一切，对学校的重要活动、朋友的死亡都显得无动于衷，唯一能让他心动是他爱上了富家小姐慧燕。可是两人的出身环境相差太大，最终导致了英勋在参加了一次富人聚会后提出了分手。 从此开始流浪生活的英勋在回故乡的路上偶然遇到了曾经痴心的静姐姐，可是早已是物事人非。离开的英勋带着无尽的思念在某个小山村里的客店中停留下来过起隐居生活，而这个小山村里的纯情少女云阳的爱却使英勋感受到了人间的温暖，同时还遇到了境遇悲惨的知识分子刀带子，三个人开始了新的流浪生活。在旅行当中原本一心只想报仇的刀带子以及对人生只感到虚无的英勋在深入生活之后渐渐获得理解和新的认识，于是各自分手带着一副新的精神状态去迎接新的生活。
