Filmed in the Andes, ALTIPLANO is set in a geological universe of ancestral salt flats, volcanic deserts and coloured lakes. This is the heart of a natural ecosystem threatened by a century of saltpeter and nitrate mining and recent geothermic exploitation. ALTIPLANO reveals this ancient land as a vibrating Ektachrome landscape, transformed through in-camera editing, complex 16mm pixelation and superimposition techniques into spaces that exist in a multitude of times simultaneously.

It’s snowing everywhere; the Austrian trenches are so close that you can hear the enemy soldiers breathing. A hundred years since the outbreak of World War I, maestro Ermanno Olmi describes with Torneranno i prati his vision of a conflict that cost the lives of 16 million human beings, just as it was brought back to him by the memory of his father, called to arms at 19 years of age, to find himself within the bloodbath of Carso and Piave. A drama that scarred his youth and the rest of his life, just like millions of others.

全片共五集，以年轻人为代表的当代西藏各族群众所折射出的精神特质进行分集，分别从“成长”、“新风”、“逐梦”、“守护”、“求索”为切面，记录下西藏当代年轻人正在发生的故事，讲述西藏在现代化的进程中，他们如何从传统中汲取智慧，利用所学，抓住时代机遇，实现人生梦想的故事。他们的故事正汇聚成一股潮流，寓示着西藏的未来。该片希望藉此向全球观众呈现一个丰富多元、具有强烈时代风貌的现代西藏，一个传统与现代正在交融的西藏，一个既古老又年轻、活力四射、富有想象力的西藏，让世人感受到世界最高的土地上当代中国人的生命高度和温度。

一个身处异乡对生活失去希望的女孩马小安（谭阔阔饰），决定开摩托送一只迷路的来自西藏的信鸽回家。一个和父亲决裂的游子，在自己老了，开始健忘的时候，不远万里骑着摩托回家，跪倒在父亲的墓碑前。 在318的自由之路上，因摩托而交集的两代人一路历经坎坷、对抗与互助、矛盾与理解。他们渐渐走出了封闭的自我。在这片沉默的高原上，他们用自己的方式找到了生活的原点，开始全新的旅程。

讲述了发生在上世纪八十年代初渭北高原的一个农村小镇的镇供销社的故事。由于市场经济的到来，社里的职工纷纷下海或离开，只留下社主任呼延凯奇一人还在坚守。一天，外出归来的呼延凯奇意外收留了一个又脏又饿的女人，不想这女人却是传言中隔壁小镇那个克死了丈夫的“克星”张芬芳。面对人们的风言风语，呼延凯奇依然坚持留下了她。两个别人眼里的“怪人”和“克星”，在多次绝望的“斗争”中，彼此得到了“救赎”，找到了人生的乐趣和意义。
