Starting with the connection between the landscape of a blasting tunnel and the anatomy of the ear, Underground captures the “sounds of the earth,” merging explosions at the site with the sonic experience of hearing loss. Following the artist’s father, a geological engineer with hearing loss, the film explores life’s transitions, the process of outgrowing the able body, and labour in an aging society. By reconstructing the sensory experience of hearing loss and the discomfort of hearing aids, Underground offers a unique portrait of a human life.

We connect to 'Underland,' a forgotten world. Somebody's still there. What's the reason that this being is still living in this place? Guided, we explore Underland.
