In Jecheon, South Korea, there's a vocational high school for multicultural youth, where about 70% of students were born overseas. This documentary follows three students—Moses, Yushin, and Shakhzoda—as they navigate life as teenage immigrants in Korea, facing challenges with language, family, and visa status while pursuing their dreams.

I was born in mid sixties and my boyhood sentiment has mostly been originated in 'the adapted'. Songs like 'Plaisir D'Amour' and 'Wedding Cake' by Twin Folio were imprinted on my mind much earlier than the original songs, for example, 'Messachusetts' by The Bee Gees. These adapted songs have influenced upon my emotion. I still have had these songs at the tip of my tongue since my youth. Presumably, to cast back to the history of adaption would be to find out the culture and history the time they were adapted. Like journey to spiritual home, I would like to trace back to the root of the adapted songs. -Director’s statement

I travelled around South Korea in spring 2011. From Gangwha to Mokpo towards the west, from Jangheung to Milyang towards the south, from Gunwi to Sealak towards the east. I made my destinations to the places I never been before. During the trip, I've met about 100 people and listened to their life stories.

Four women, who have lived for more than three decades within the confines of patriarchy and compulsory heterosexuality, gradually become entangled as they arrive at gender-queer and lesbian identities through different paths in life. Their testimonies and personal records, revealed through extended conversations and interviews, intersect with Adrienne Rich’s concepts of “lesbian existence” and the “lesbian continuum,” queer Korean history, letters, critical writings, and other diverse texts. The artist reconstructs these materials through acts of copying by hand, erasing, tearing, and repeated editing, creating an open narrative in which different times and voices intersect rather than binding personal memories into a single, complete story. Together with a professional performer, the participants transform emotions and memories that cannot be fully articulated through words or writing into movements of “swimming,” performing a language of the body in a public square. In this process, their bodies intertwine and question one another, moving toward what lies beyond language.
