Tommie is a young guy in Manhattan with a dead-end job handing out fliers in Times Square. Tommie is inspired to make his own trek to P-town, where he goes on a summer long, balls-out quest for Mr. Right, even though he has no money and holds his breath each time he uses his American Express card. In the course of the summer, Tommie looks for a work as a house boy at various inns, works several jobs, benefits from the kindness of a stranger, and gets involved with a series of men. A balloon, floating lightly above the ground, moves along the direction of the wind. The balloon drifts to wherever the wind blows, reaching out to everything it encounters. The moment the balloon and the wind meet, that place becomes a ballroom where their movements intersect. A dance takes place and is created as the balloon and the wind begin to move together.

James Toback:" The film idea was generated by conversations Alec and I have had over a long period of time and we decided we'd go to Cannes and shoot a record of our quest to find money to make a movie, which in effect is not a movie we're definitely making, but rather one we will make in the future if we raise the money for it here. This film is about that process, documenting the progress and the potential success or failure of the two of us in a picaresque attempt to obtain the financing of a movie we have a general idea about making."
