2006年多哈亚运会将于12月1日至15日在卡塔尔首都多哈举行，来自45个国家或地区的大约1.1万运动员参加39个大项和424个小项。

2023年9月23日20时0分0秒，2022年杭州第19届亚运会开幕式在杭州奥体中心体育场（大莲花）隆重举行。国家主席习近平出席开幕式并宣布本届亚运会开幕。杭州第19届亚运会开幕式以“潮起亚细亚”为主题，秉承“简约、安全、精彩”理念，以“数实融合”的形式完成主火炬点燃，通过零碳排放的主火炬和电子烟花，体现主办城市的环保意识，展现大国担当，为推动构建人类命运共同体注入深厚持久的文化力量。 　　整场开幕式的仪式及表演以水为串联、潮为意向，体现国风之潮，展现新时代中国与亚洲、与世界的交融激荡。9月23日正值秋分节气，也是第六个中国农民丰收节。在这个收获的金色季节，“桂花”这一元素将融入开幕式中。丹桂飘香，岁稔年丰，弘扬中华优秀传统文化、展示中华民族现代文明也成为贯穿整场开幕式的重要创作理念。本届杭州亚运会开幕式创造性地采用了“数字点火”的方式，在主火炬点燃环节，超过1亿的“数字火炬手”将汇聚到钱塘江上，形成一个具象的数字火炬手，和线下的六棒火炬手共同点燃主火炬。这是人类历史上第一次碳废再生、零碳甲醇点燃亚运圣火。开幕式采用数字烟花的形式，展现开幕式高光时刻的热烈氛围，观众可以从绝无仅有的视角，看到史无前例的“烟花”盛景。我们也一同来期待，开幕式上别样的绚烂“数字烟花”。

杭州亚运会开闭幕式官方纪录片《绽放》由杭州亚组委和浙江广电集团联合出品、教科影视频道历时三年创制。片子共分五集，全程全景记录了杭州亚运会开闭幕式“孕育”“含苞”“蓄力”“绽放”“共融”过程中鲜为人知的台前幕后、感动瞬间、精彩故事，生动形象诠释了亚运盛会“中国特色、亚洲风采、精彩纷呈”的核心理念。 这是一部所有人为了同一个梦想，为了同一次绽放，竭尽全力书写青春无畏与美丽的纪录片，为杭州第19届亚运会和杭州第4届亚残运会留下一份珍贵而生动的影像档案。

第23届洛杉矶奥运会将于1984年7月28日至9月12日在美国加州南部城市洛杉矶举行，洛杉矶第二次举办夏季奥运会，中国奥运代表团派出225名运动员参赛。
