何塞·欧斯达西奥·里维拉 (1889—1928)是哥伦比亚杰出的小说家和诗人。他出生于南方小城的一个小康之家，在一个刚创办不久的师范学院读法律，是该校第一届的毕业生。其后做了几年律师，行有余力，还写点诗歌，成为波哥大城里知名的知识分子之一。一九二一年出版诗集《希望之乡》、长篇小说《旋涡》(一九二四年)。四年以后，即一九二八年，里维拉因患肺炎，旅美时在纽约去世，留下一卷十四行诗和一个生前未出版的诗剧。
