伊万洁利亚的纪录片是白日梦般的电影诗篇。《朦胧的巴洛克》记录了一位在巴西颇有影响力的变性人，卢安娜穆尼斯的生活点滴。伊万洁利亚试图描绘一座城市的社会现状，是如何影响个体的追求与改变。笼罩在这座城市上方的是争论不休的极端主义、政治冲突，还有层出不穷的变装嘉年华。而在这片笼罩下的，是行走的变装小丑，是跳着巴西热舞的异装癖者，是夹缝生存的变性者。

STATEMENT 　　Here and now 　　In the film Balkan Baroque, one has the impression that the character invents the past as she speaks, here and now. This past seems to have no reality outside the moment it is evoked with the force that is characteristic of film work. Here, in Balkan Baroque, it has become the present, the present of the film unwinding before the viewer's eyes. 　　What we see on the screen is in the process of happening-it is the very gesture that is given to us and not a report on it. The universe of the film is given in a perpetual present. In other words, this biography of Marina Abramovic, which implies a number of past things, is in process of unfolding before our eyes, here and now, as we watch Balkan Baroque. 'Elsewhere' and 'formerly' do not exist. There is no longer a true reality, inherent and external to the film, so there is no longer anything but the sole reality of the projected images. The film, the universe that it reveals, suffices by itself, at every instant, erasing itself as it goes along, within a loop that is literally never-ending. 　　We are therefore dealing with a subjective, mental unwinding. The work Balkan Baroque is not account of an exterior reality; it is its own reality. The only time to be considered for this biography is the projection time (63'). Balkan Baroque is pure fiction, an imaginary production in which Marina Abramovic plays different roles, including the role of the artist doing performances.

Saint Peter, a reluctant but passionate leader, from the crucifixion of Jesus to his own. The film's first half dramatizes the New Testament's "Acts": early fear, the renewal of Pentecost, Saul's conversion, the decision to baptize pagans, and the Apostles' dispersal. In the second half, an aged Peter goes to Rome to join Paul, arriving on the day of Paul's arrest. Paul's death brings a crisis to Rome's Christians and to Peter; lessons from Jesus's teachings guide his decision to stay. Events within the fictive household of Persius, a Roman aristocrat, capture the upheaval that Christian teachings bring to the Eternal City.

影片以一艘在1925年航向中国的美国炮艇为故事舞台。主人翁贺曼是艇上的海员，喜欢躲在底层的机房工作，不料炮艇驻守中国之后却逼令他跳到甲板上跟各方面的政治和文化压力周旋，复杂的局势发展改变了他独善其身的个性。

乔奇（Lajos Básti 饰）是大富翁帕里的私生子，帕里一直对乔奇心怀愧疚，因此在弥留之际承认了乔奇的身份，并且将自己的全部财产都留给了他。一晃眼多年过去，乔奇长大成人成为了一名出色的律师，可是，帕里遗产的下落对于他来说一直都宛如一个谜题。 　　一次偶然中，乔奇得知帕里将继承权相关的文件藏在了一把雨伞的伞柄里，于是，和女友维罗卡（Marica Gervai 饰）一起，乔奇踏上了寻找这笔遗产的旅途，并且最终在一座教堂里找到了雨伞的下落。虽然当乔奇找到雨伞时，得知这把伞柄已经被用于圣木烧毁了，但乔奇和维罗卡依然收获了幸福。

受到德国先锋纪录片《柏林城市交响乐》的启发，由两位青年导演拍摄的《圣保罗都市交响乐》是巴西影史上的经典纪录片。 　　During the 1920s and the 1930s, the German Walter Benjamin wrote about cities. He was born in Berlin, but felt in love with Paris. In 1927, Walter Ruttmann directed the fantastic "Berlin: Die Sinfonie der Großstadt". 　　Surprisingly, Brazil was tuned with Europe and was the unique country in Latin America that produced modern movies about and influenced by the metropolis. In 1926, it was released a documentary about Recife. In 1928, Humberto Mauro directed his "Sinfonia de Cataguases", ("Symphony of Cataguases") a short inspired in "Berlin: Die Sinfonie der Großstadt". In Porto Alegre, it was produced "A Princesinha do Sul". 　　"São Paulo, Sinfonia da Metrópole", directed by the Hungarian Adalberto Kemeny and Rudolf Rex Lustig, is the most famous and important Brazilian documentary totally inspired in the German classic. The film begins with the dawn, with the city "waking-up", ending in the sunset, showing the dynamics of a big city and its dwellers.
