The first appearance on screen for Bert Ljung, a normal teenager who's diary Swedes have been able to follow in well over ten books now. As in the books, he fights spots, looks for girls, runs his moped, plays with his weird friends Ake and Erik, and a lot of other stuff teenagers are supposed to do.

During a school trip with his parallel class, Bert plans to make a move on Paulina. At the same time, the bus gets stuck in the middle of the forest. Lill-Erik seizes the opportunity to take a pee, only to be left behind by the bus. The sun is shining and it's summer vacation. Bert wants to go to the beach and check out the girls in bikinis in general, and Paulina in particular. Bert's dad is going through a midlife crisis. Bert is forced to take over his dad's optician shop because his dad Fredrik would rather play with Bart's rock band "Heman Hunters". This turns out to have certain advantages, because a wonderful, fantastic girl comes to the shop. It's time to start middle school. Åke gets off to a strong start by blowing up the chemistry lab, and Bert falls in love with Ida. But Ida is with a guy called "The Gravedigger." For some reason, he wants to skin Bert alive.

This installment of the Classic Albums series looks at the making of Lou Reed's seminal glam-rock solo album, Transformer, featuring a relaxed Reed (though decidedly less glam than he was in '72) looking like he's having the time of his life as he reminisces and isolates separate tracks to illustrate how the album came together. Bassist Herbie Flowers demonstrates how he recorded the swingy, impossibly catchy bass riff in "Walk on the Wild Side," and coproducer David Bowie makes a brief appearance, as do many of Reed's contemporaries and fellow musicians. In London Herbie Flowers shows us how the bass line on "Walk On The Wild Side" was recorded, creating what is one of the most famous riffs in popular music. Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics talks of Lou Reed's influence on him as a songwriter and musician.
