A man returns to his ancestral village after many years only to find his house in a dilapidated state and decides to rebuild it. The engineer he brings in to do the work gets really close to his family members.

Jeganathan (Vijayakumar), a poor man, fell in love with Nagavalli (Srividya) who is from the richest family in the village and Jeganathan married her secretly.
