朱寰教授，男，汉族，1926年1月12日出生于辽宁省瓦房店市。于1951年毕业于东北师范大学，留校任教，担任东北师范大学历史系世界古代史讲师，1978年晋升为副教授，1979年破格晋升为教授，1986年被国务院学位委员会遴选为博士生导师，先后担任东北师范大学历史系副主任、主任、世界古典文明史研究所所长。1997年创建东北师范大学世界中古史研究所，并任首任所长。2001年任教育部人文社科重点研究基地世界文明史研究中心名誉主任及学术委员会主任。
