Sooni is the daughter of a strolling male entertainer. After her mother left her, Sooni was raised by Dori's mother and is engaged to Dori. But Dori's friend Chil-sung also has crush on her. One day, Dori wins the wrestling game at the marketplace and earns money as reward. With that money, he buys Sooni a jade ring. However, an air of misfortune begins as Mr. Kim, who is a forest keeper shows up.

In order to get his prank-loving little sister Tara in trouble, Michael turns the cuckoo's head in his father's cuckoo clock backwards, but soon regrets it when he is continuously transported back in time, with little chance of getting back to the present.

The filmmaker (Dida, VdR 2021) makes them all his own, changing the tones of their colours, using them as a backdrop to narrate his biography as a pacifist enlisted to fight in the Balkan wars at the end of the 1990s.
