《果酱》的开始是一场谋杀案，然后的四个标题各引领一段叙事。从一辆汽车的归属，牵出与之相关的三类人：先偷车后还车的闲散年轻人小凯和佳佳，先丢车后得车的电影公司何小姐，先偷车后弃车的黑社会人物华哥。其中的两次偷车，华哥属于偷来作案，有其用罢弃之的前因，才有小凯和佳佳欲要偷车渔利的后果。而影片又并不是单纯的技术型电影，还在片中插入了这些人或是彼此，或是与外界的情感纠葛，从而使故事在车的悬念与感情的悬念之间交替上升。故事围绕着一对游手好闲的年轻男女，和一对姘居的电影界游民所展开了剧情，面对风骚的雪姨，面对聚集着迷惘一代的黑社会帮派，小凯已经迷失在了灯红酒绿的“西门汀”。当偷窃、偷情的日子渐渐远去的时候，他还是会想起那个在他生命中错过的女孩——佳佳。佳佳拿着果酱走向她的希望，以为从此小凯便可发现她的女性风情，然而没有。明哥为女友带来一罐一罐的果酱，以为可以将爱情永留，然而没有！该来的总要来，该去的总要去。

黑社会人物华哥（高明骏）渴望掌控自己的命运，但人在江湖身不由己。偷得一辆汽车做过案后，为免麻烦他将车抛弃，牵动起两组人的命运。丢车的电影公司何小姐（六月）急于找回车子，无意间“捡”到车子的闲散年轻人小凯（蔡信弘）和佳佳（徐淑媛）知道车的属性后急于归还。 　　在四人的生活轨迹因为这辆汽车有了交叉的过程中，何小姐的万种风情吸引了小凯，使其对不同于身边的假小子佳佳的女性有了懵懂的意识，而华哥的暴死，则令他开始修正人生。

在监狱里的一名男子向他狡猾的狱友叙述了一场浪漫的银行劫案，以便逃脱并与他生命中引人入胜的爱人团聚。
