冬天一个农民在一个结冰的湖边发现一只受伤白鹤。然后把它带回家养好伤。最后把它放走了。一年过后的冬天那个农民又来到湖边这时看见一位非常漂亮的美女。那个美女其实就是白鹤化身。她叫阿鹤。然后把她带回家。跟她过日子了。因为男方家里穷。欠了地主的债。男方的父亲很早就被地主逼死了！~家里只有一个瞎眼的母亲。阿鹤除了照顾男方的母亲外还要。为家里纺织一种用白鹤的羽毛织成的纺织品。卖给地主还债。原料的来源是她自己变回白鹤之后自己拔自己身上的羽毛。因此她每次都把自己关在一个房间里工作。一天男方因为好奇就去偷看阿鹤纺织。结果知道了真相。最后因为阿鹤是被神仙指点后才变成人身回来报恩的。报恩的条件是必须不给别人知道她是一只白鹤。如果被知道了的话。第二年的秋天就要变成白鹤，回到鹤群当中跟白鹤一起生活。
