Mannflóran is a documentary series that explores ethnic diversity and multiculturalism within Icelandic society with a focus on the younger generation. Unlike the other Scandinavian countries, Iceland has a short history of multiculturalism. For a long time, Icelandic society has been homogeneous and dominated by a white population with a Norwegian and Irish heritage. However, within recent decades, Iceland has seen a rapid growth in demographics with diverse cultural backgrounds. The documentary series educates viewers about the experiences of people of foreign origin living in Iceland and adds a fresh perspective to a discussion that often seems polarized.
