大卫•埃利斯顿•艾伦（David Elliston Allen），人类学科班出身，曾任不列颠群岛植物学会、博物学史学会主席，两大县级植物区系的市场调查分析师及合作作者，常年负责博物学史领域的大型学术研究项目，曾任韦尔科姆基金会医学史项目的协调人。他也是韦尔科姆医学史学院的生命科学史名誉讲师，同时执教于伦敦大学学院。出版过的书籍包括《植物学家》和《维多利亚时代的蕨类植物热潮》。
