伯兰特·佛尔（Bernard Faure），法国著名佛教学者（现移居美国）。1978年佛尔毕业于法国国立东方语言文化学院，获研究生文凭。1984年，佛尔毕业于巴黎第七大学，获哲学国家博士学位。1978-1983年期间，佛尔留学日本，先后作为访问学者和研究生就读于京都大学人文科学研究所（历史学京都学派重镇），从柳田圣山先生研究禅学（柳田圣山在此期间任教于京都大学，后曾任人文科学研究所所长，以倡导历史文献批评学方法研治禅学而知名）。1983年，佛尔移居美国，先后任康奈尔大学助理教授（1983-1987）和副教授（1987），及斯坦福大学副教授（1987-1994）、教授（1994-1999）、讲座教授，现为哥伦比亚大学宗教学系、东亚语言文化系教授，并担任哥伦比亚大学日本宗教研究中心主任。 佛尔佛学研究的主题是东亚佛教。在这一论域内，他的论述主要集中在...(展开全部)
