“My SMT” is SM Entertainment’s live variety show featuring their artists. Each episode presents celebrity guests in various segments. The program also includes a “Who’s the Best” section, highlighting four female SM trainees (SM Rookies). Viewer comments, games, and votes are incorporated throughout the show. It aired live on Youku in 2016.

Kiarostami presents two cases for talking heads to evaluate in terms of morality, rights and responsibilities. Case One: Your son is in class, sitting in the back row. His teacher is writing on the board. A restless student in the back row makes a lot of noise. Not knowing who the culprit is, the teacher makes all the children sitting in the last two rows stay outside of the class until the weekend, unless they tell him who made the noise. After a few days spent outside of the classroom, your son relents and tattles on the boy who made the noise, so he can go back in and continue learning. Was he in the right? Case Two: The other students from the back row wait out the rest of the week outside of the class, before returning. Were they in the right?

In the 1930s, a bearded man without any memory appeared in the Pyrenean mountains. The first foreign visitor in those lands became an object of study for Dr. Pedro Martínez, who ran a psychiatric clinic in the area, and who made a filmed study of the man from the point of view of the primitive psychiatry of the time, highly influenced by phrenology. Two reels of silent film are what is left of his work, an attempt to disentangle the mystery of the “Englishman”, educated and refined, a real extraterrestrial in an area marked by the biological consequences of endogamy and incest.

In 1957, the Royal Leerdam Glass Works commissioned Haanstra to make an informative promotional film in black and white. This resulted in the accomplished 25 minute Speaking of Glass. On entering the factory, however, Haanstra noticed that a mechanical stacking machine was malfunctioned because of one broken bottle. Amused by its robot like but futile movements, Haanstra agreed to make the film, but only on condition that he could make a separate short on glass. The film gives an intriguing view of the process of glass blowing and the mechanical way in wich glass objects are made. Glass, his greatest success to date, even won an Oscar, the grand prix of Hollywood and Holland's first Academy Award.
