A small boy squashing an insect sets in motion a series of events, large and small, that include a lost restaurant reservation, a drunken fender-bender, disruption of basic cable television service, and more than one relationship falling apart. The film is based on the life story of Jutta Kleinschmidt, the first and only woman to win the uphill off-road persistence race The Dakar Rally. 　　Jennifer Lawrence is playing Kleinschmidt, who was born in Germany and bought her first motorcycle at age 18. She worked at BMW for six years after studying physics before leaving in 1992 to pursue her passion for motorsports. In 1997, she became the rally's first female stage winner, and in 1999, she finished third overall as part of the first all-female team to stand on the winners' podium. Kleinschmidt won the fabled race in 2001, after 15 years of trying, and cemented her place in history.
