这是一部关于日本介绍《史记》诞生及其太史公司马迁的历史纪录片。本片以司马迁祠堂及茂陵墓等为背景，分析了司马迁与武帝的历史故事，以及《史记》对日本的影响等问题。本片的主人公走访了韩城、内蒙古等地，解开《史记》诞生的故事。
