这是一部完全手工绘制的动画作品，全片分为七个章节，讲述了八位艺术大师和他们的模特之间的微妙关系，以此反映出在特殊的历史背景和社会现实下他们对自己创作风格的或坚守或转变。他们分别是西班牙绘画大师戈雅（Francisco de Goya，1746-1828），维拉斯奎兹（D iego Velazquez，1599-1660），毕加索（Pablo Picasso，1881-1973），达利（Salvado）、索洛利亚、德·托雷斯、墨西哥女画家弗里达和法国前卫艺术大师马塞尔·杜尚。 　　《一只名叫痛苦的狗》是一部用心创作出来的动画杰作，包含着复杂丰富的人物关系以及创作者对哲学、政治、文化和艺术等多方面的思考，需要对绘画、历史、电影等方面了解颇深才有可能理解片中的情节和所表达的思想。 　　全片平静深沉，同时超现实，看似简单却很有震撼力的黑白线条中蕴藏着作者对几百年西班牙历史和绘画艺术的深刻思考和探究，无论这些解读是真实的再现还是幽默讽刺的再创作，都表达了作者个人的独特思想。

在东京边缘的一个山村，过着平和的父女看似安稳的生活被打破。一个大规模的发展计划，打算将它们的森林家园变成豪华的露营地，而这个发展计划将带来经济效益却也会破坏生态环境并改变村民的生活。在这个改变中，父女须做出决定。

A hunter is after a bear in the forest. The bear hides in the house of the little girl Goldilocks, who gives him food and plays with him. But then everything changes. 　　As refuge away from a stalking hunter, a bear is summoned into the solitary cabin in the woods by its occupier, a young blonde girl who seemingly lives there alone. The girl takes care of the bear, including feeding it and hiding it from the suspicious hunter. In turn, the bear and the girl become playmates. The true nature of their confined relationship based on the natural order eventually emerges, with the hunter reentering their lives to complete that order, at least from a human perspective. 2020年一場疫情，讓日本跟台灣把遊客擋在門外。在我們不存在的時間，那個熟悉的地方，正一點一點地變化。那些我們錯過了的風景，那些或許只存在於當下的種種，在節目中由主持逐一收集起來。然後，當我們嘗試回眸原地，在最貼近的位置，我們又有否看清當下這一個家？

This film marks the directorial debut of Robert Benayoun. An artist (Richard Leduc) attending a party smokes some dope and develops the ability to see into the future and the past. He returns to his apartment where he sees the vision of a woman who had lived there 30 years ago. A friend tries to convince him it is his heightened sensitively as an artist that allows for the newfound abilities, but he soon has psychedelic hallucinations and his abilities increase with time. Stop-motion photography is effectively used in his sequence of visual experiences where the people exist but not the city in this metaphysical story.
