In a very rural part of Argentina, a professor decides to conduct an archeological dig. He goes there unsure of what he will find in such a small town. However, while there he befriends the local school teacher and they share their thoughts and dreams together. The professor starts getting comfortable when suddenly the death of a child plagues the town. Now, he must decide where he wants to be.

The work explores history as it has been written by the victors, with their hero worship of tyrannical leaders (whether Caesar or Hitler), and offers an alternate view of history writing as fractured and potentially revolutionary. Caesar’s former slave and former banker are both featured, providing their own differing perspectives on the Emperor’s career in the political, economic, and military life of ancient Rome.

Excellent surrealistic drama 　　Thumbs up for this pure pearl of soviet Georgian cinema. Highly recommended and not only for Georgians but for any moviegoer - everybody finds something appealing in this wonderfully developed and very well done film. 　　As for surrealism, it is exactly what makes to feel this film with its every bit: this surrealism is speaking on the language of every country and every nation. 　　And if you still doubt a word of mine, just watch this movie and you will know what I was talking about... 　　The director Eldar Shengelaya is very well known in Georgian movie art. The other highly recommended movies of his are "Tsisperi mtebi anu daujerebeli ambavi" and "Arachveulebrivi gamopena". By the way, all his movies show that he catches both the glimpses of daily life and the meaning beneath them with the pure professionalism and it is just pity he has not directed any movie since 1996. 　　All in all, watch and enjoy!!!
