影片以玄奘之路戈壁挑战赛为背景，讲述一群背景各异、身处人生不同阶段的人因奔跑而相遇的故事。面对各自不同的人生课题，他们为爱奔赴、奋力奔跑，对茫茫荒漠与强劲对手发起了艰难挑战。
