《同人WORK》中，主人公长菜被朋友露里鼓动，而决定踏入同人志发售会，在现场又受到青梅竹马的漫画大作家justice的影响，开始了同人志创作。而作为新人的长菜，对于满画的绘制自然是异常苦手，虽然志向远大，但离制作出大作为目标的远大理想显然还有一条非常漫长的道路。于是，她与朋友们就一起过着，乱来又快乐的每一天……（喂喂，不要逃避现实噶）。与同为4格漫画改编的《阿兹漫画大王》动画相比，此作还避免了毕业危机，毫无可圈可点之处的长菜只是我们身边的普通人，所以这故事可以慢慢地制作下去，直到长菜实现她的梦想为止。

主人公·长菜奈寺美被同级生露理诱惑参加了同人志的贩售会。在那里奈寺美第一次接受到同人文化的冲击。在露理和已是同人界超级人气作家的幼年玩伴Justice的影响下，奈寺美也开始了自己的同人活动，不过由于完全是外行人，所以技术完全不行。不过奈寺美并没有因此而灰心，反而向着人气漫画家的方向努力前进，与各种奇怪的朋友一起过着充实的每一天。
