汪民安继《米歇尔·福柯》之后，又推出的一部新的论文电影《现代性》。这是以他的著作《现代性》为基础制作而成。《现代性》一书出版后广受欢迎，多次再版，豆瓣数千人评分高达9分。这部电影以《现代性》一书为脚本，从大量既往的电影、绘画、照片和音乐中选取了与现代性密切相关的材料，并对这些材料进行新的“挪用”、剪辑和组织。“现代性”从静止的纸页上来到了活动影像上。 　　“现代性是一个纷繁复杂的概念，书中从现代生活、现代资本主义、现代观念、工业主义和民族-国家以及现代性的冲突五个方面，具体探讨了现代性的基本特征和内涵，从各个层面对现代性这一复杂而内部矛盾重重的悖论系统做了简要、精辟的论述。” 　　对人文科学和社会科学而言，现代性是一个至关重要的概念。它有多重的意义。有社会、政治，经济和文化等不同层面上的现代性。因为学科和视野的不同，人们对这个概念的理解也不同。这部片子试图从多个角度去探讨现代性的含义。电影的四个部分就是从四个层面去讨论现代性的诸多维度。 　　汪民安教授不是第一次来到北京大学进行学术放映。早在2016年，北京大学艺术学院曾举办“黉门对话”专家主题论坛，论坛聚焦欧洲当代哲学与艺术理论。汪民安教授的论文电影《米歇尔·福柯》作为学术影像进行放映，纪念米歇尔·福柯逝世90周年。李洋教授、戴锦华教授、汪民安教授都曾出席该活动。 　　今天，我们再一次非常荣幸地邀请到汪民安教授作为本次活动的嘉宾，以及李洋教授担任活动的主持人。届时，我们将一同观赏汪民安教授的最新电影作品《现代性》，并在影片放映结束后，举行一场深入的影后座谈会。 　　汪民安，清华大学中文系教授，主要研究方向为批评理论、文化研究，现代艺术和文学，著有《尼采与身体》《福柯的界限》《谁是罗兰·巴特》《现代性》《论家用电器》《身体、空间与后现代性》《什么是当代》《绘画反对图像》《论爱欲》等，最新著作《亲密关系的核心是友谊》，主编理论丛刊《生产》《褶子》，主编“人文科学译丛”、“福柯文选”等多套西方理论丛书。 　　2016年，汪民安创作了论文电影《米歇尔·福柯》，影片在北京大学、中央美术学院等学校和艺术机构放映。

冬日的清晨，宫子羽在旧尘山谷的万花楼醒来，侍奉他起床的紫衣姑娘敦促他抓紧时间回去，不要耽误今天宫门迎娶新娘。与此同时，旧尘山谷外的梨溪镇，一对母女正在家中告别，两名无锋刺客突然闯入，击晕了她们。无锋刺客云为衫换上新娘的嫁衣，摇身一变成为来自梨溪镇的宫门待选新娘。此番潜入宫门，她的目的只有一个——成为宫门少主宫唤羽的妻子，获取宫门情报。宫子羽从万花楼出来，与侍卫金繁一起坐马车回宫门，路上他们的马车被从旧尘山谷外骑马赶来的一个宫门哨点的药铺老板撞倒。身负重伤的药铺老板告诉宫子羽，他们的哨点遭遇无锋的突袭，他借假死偷听到无锋在今晚送进来的新娘里安插了一个刺客。宫子羽大惊，赶忙将这个消息禀告执刃宫鸿羽与少主宫唤羽。然而宫子羽并不知道，“新娘里有一个刺客”的消息是无锋设计故意让宫门知道的。无锋往宫门内送了不止一名刺客，所以特意走漏风声，牺牲一个间谍，保全其他人的安全。执刃宫鸿羽经验老道，听到这个消息便决定杀死所有新娘，宫子羽不忍有人被无辜滥杀，和父亲产生冲突。

渴望自由的间谍云为衫（虞书欣 饰）为完成任务深入宫门，在阴森诡谲的宫门之中遇到爱情、友情，找寻自我，坚定前进方向，与叛逆的公子哥宫子羽（张凌赫 饰）一同成长。

在目睹一朵古老的黑暗暴風雲痛苦地降雨並悲傷地消逝後，朵朵白雲諾瑪意識到她的女兒米克斯特利，一朵黑暗的暴風雲，正面臨早早降雨的危險。

Uniforms, morning roll call, order, and discipline determine life at a prestigious boarding school somewhere in the Himalaya’s misty foothills. 16-year-old Jaivardhana isn’t thriving in this authoritarian environment. An opportunity for temporary respite from this strict regime presents itself, when a former teacher visits the school and offers interested students a photography workshop. During Mr Sapru’s inspiring lessons, the young people don’t learn about depth of field or shutter speed, but they do learn to open their senses and experience the world around them. 　　The photography lessons also introduce Jaivardhana to Tarini, a new student he has been watching for a while now. Something cautiously develops between the two timeless lovers – because their present meeting proves to fulfil a centuries-old desire, that references a classic Indian tale about tragic lovers and an evil, jealous ruler. When fate strikes, Jaivardhana decides to seek out the mythical figure Hanuman. 　　This lends this coming-of-age film a cosmic dimension, that director Rahat Mahajan also expresses in his debut feature film’s narrative form. Contemporary and ancient storytelling meet in an original fusion of classic cinema, with expressive storytelling traditions from the south of India. Mahajan’s own boarding school experiences were not only the inspiration, but also provided the film’s principal location, as it came about in collaboration with students and staff of his former school.

(Not to overstate it or anything) A three hander set in a post apocalyptic Oz outback (but one which is wildly more fantastical than Mad Max), Spirits of the Air tells the story of Smith, a stranger on the run who happens upon Felix and Betty, far into the desert. 　　All around them are amazing images of cars buried into the ground like totems, huge flags blowing madly in the desert wind and their house itself is of the old oz pioneer style but decorated everywhere with crucifixes. Felix is an inventor obsessed with flight and making a glider, an obsession which has already left him in a wheel chair. Betty is one of the truly great film characters, just an absolute tripper - I can't describe her but the performance is a delight. 　　This is not a fast film, it is not action packed but is intense - the imagery and art direction are beautiful, the writing is distinct and very Australian but still universal, the soundtrack is haunting (a lot of windsound montages with a simple tune used to great effect) and the performances are both real and surreal. 　　Until you see this film (and for those who have enjoyed the increasingly brilliant work of Alex Proyas, you really should) you won't know what you are missing.
