1927年8月，南昌起义爆发，共产党员卢人杰为完成赵国豹的遗愿，回家乡匀城建设红色革命力量。回家乡后的卢人杰被卷入卢、赵两家的纷争中，县长何非吾为了稳固自己的势力均衡、制约破坏两家的力量，赵国虎为扳倒卢人杰更是勾结土匪吴天勇不断陷害卢家。卢人杰为了筹备经济基础，接手家中的茶叶事业，在壮大革命力量中结识了赵国豹遗孀林文俪，原来林文俪同为共产党人，为执行任务与赵国豹订下婚约。卢人杰周旋于匀城的各方力量中，筹备着革命队伍的建设，得到了苗寨尹思远父女及魏大山的帮助，在这一过程中得知了自己与赵国豹原本同为熊家亲兄弟的身世，最终众人联合击败何非吾，攻破匀城。卢人杰和林文俪率领匀城独立团与红军主力部队一起开辟了突破乌江的战场。自此，这支黔南的红色武装书写了以星星之火而燎原的红色传奇。
