程久保高中棒球部的女经理宫田夕纪（川口春奈 饰）因病住院，虽然所负责的是一支万年垫底球队，但是夕纪仍对其时时挂念。感受到了夕纪的心意，长久以来的好友川岛南（前田敦子 饰）临时上阵担任了球队的经理。小南雄心勃勃，发誓要带着球队闯入甲子园，可是球队的现状是有的人出工不出力、有的计划转往他部，内部更是危机频现，矛盾重重。偶然机会，小南得到了管理学巨匠彼得•杜拉克的名著《管理学：任务，责任，实践》，她将企业的管理经验融入到球队的打理中来，半死不活的球队竟意外展现出别样的生机。杜拉克帮助小南朝着甲子园又迈进了一步…… 　　本片根据岩崎夏海的同名原著改编。

就读于东京都立程久保高中二年级的少女川岛南，某天去看望住院的好友宫田夕纪时，决定帮身体不好的她加入棒球部当经理。冲动的南一心想带着棒球部打进甲子园。但困于缺乏经验，不知怎样才好时，在书店内误拿了一本美国管理学大师彼得·杜拉克（Peter Drucker）所作的管理学入门书《管理：任务、责任、实践》，里面写的是企业经营和组织论的本质工作。南看完《管理的使命、实务与责任》后深受感动，决定参考书内的人事管理模式，思考顾客的定义、市场、管理学及创新的重要性，将其知识运用在棒球部的管理与改革上。南的棒球部管理现在开始，并带领着球队前往朝甲子园迈进……
