The Rest Is Silence, a German-made attempt to update Shakespeare, is one of the best and least self-conscious of this minor genre. As indicated by the title, the film's script is a "mufti" version of {-Hamlet}, with young Hardy Kruger trying to prove that his uncle (Peter van Eyck) has killed his father. Direct references to the Shakespeare original abound, right down to the re-enactment of the crime for the benefit of the Uncle and the periodic appearances of the ghost of the hero's father. Interestingly, this 1960 film was released at the same time as a "straight" German version of {-Hamlet}, made for television and starring Maximillian Schell.

Claire lives with her wealthy adopted parents in a luxurious and isolated house in the woods. She discovers a wounded and bleeding boy her age in her family's garden shed. The boy is a young drug courier from Afghanistan; shot and wounded after serving his purpose as human packing material. Claire decides to keep the boy a secret. He slowly recovers under her care; and they fall in love. When the drug dealers return and Claire's family is due to move back to the city; they decide to flee; though Claire finds it difficult to outrun her past as an abandoned child.

A married couple in search of new adventures, invite a nurse to join them for a threesome. The nurse falls in love with the wrong man, an old doctor friend. He takes some photographs of hers, to open up and achieve the search for a desired orgasm; and a teenage boy in love with a girl, lives a night of unexpected passion, without having it planned, but not only with the girl he wants also her fer friend.
