长夜过去，天微微亮起。山坡上竖着一个巨大的监听器，唐老鸭（克拉伦斯·纳什 Clarence Nash 配音）站在旁边监听着空中的信息。不过困意袭上心头，他已经站立着坠入梦想。另一边，唐大叔的三个小外甥则躺在帐篷里呼呼大睡。最终，疲劳的唐大叔摔到地上，打呼噜的时候无意间吹响了小号。三个小家伙鱼跃而起，当发现这不过是唐大叔摆的乌龙时，他们想出了鬼主意，制作假的飞机和空降兵吓唬唐大叔，结果令唐大叔惊慌失措。得知真相后，唐老鸭撤销了外甥们的军衔。这时，新的危机到来了…… 　　本片制作于二战期间，迪斯尼在战时被政府徵收，不仅原定长片计划搁浅，还制作了许多类似服务于政治的宣传短片。
