這是農曆歲次己末年（1979）3月19日的燒王船紀錄檔案，地點在臺南安定鄉，曾文溪畔的蘇厝村，每三年由十二瘟王代天巡狩「長興宮」執行主辦。 　　張照堂與另一位攝影師杜可風（Christopher Doyle）當時在不同角度取鏡，他們兩人合拍了約一小時長度的影片，張照堂花了一個月構思、醞釀與剪輯，完成這部短片。整部影片去除了任何來自祭祀現場的聲響，只伴隨英國作曲／演奏家麥克‧歐菲爾德（Mike Oldfield）一首二十分鐘曲子Ommadawn發展，一氣呵成、環環相扣地形構了祭典的出神與狂熱。這也是臺灣最早也最長的一部MTV。

Young lovers, Max and lime dream to live life together, but there comes a war, and everything that seemed inviolable — their feelings and plans falling apart like a house of cards.
