警视厅总务部企划课课长柴崎令司（田边诚一 饰）是警察组织中首屈一指的精英分子。完全没有现场调查经验的他只想着以后如何出人头地。然而某日，直属部下木户和彦竟然开枪自杀，暗流涌动的事态发展也改变了他的命运。原来柴崎曾接到上司中田（石黑贤饰）的电话，要求患有抑郁症的木户参加射击训练，以帮助他恢复，并且他也接到了中田盖章的指示通知。 　　被问责的柴崎虽然如此辩白，但那段时间中田有完美的不在场证明。而指示通知也已被处理。结果柴崎因此被降职。电话那头的主使者到底是谁？柴崎决定继续调查，不仅为了找出真相，更为了能回到本部，恢复自己的地位。

A very good "spaghetti polar" from the talented director Fernando DiLeo. Luc Merenda isn't the best leading man of the genre but the rest of the cast is first rate, so is the inevitable car chase occurring in the middle of the story. There is also an interesting look at police corruption in Italy - a theme very sensitive at that time there, I guess - delivered by an intelligent script and a main character very well drawn. 　　And, of course, there's also a huge amount of violence in it and a very dark conclusion.
