该剧改编自姜草的同名漫画，以一家开设在小巷深处的灯具店为背景，讲述了五位徘徊在生与死之间的“顾客”的故事，剧情看似惊悚诡异，实则洋溢着满满的亲情、爱情，看来令人不忍释卷。朱智勋饰演商店的主人公引领故事发展。金雪炫饰演和贤敏是恋人的智英，因为贤敏遭遇不义事故，智英被贤敏的母亲暴言然后选择自我了断的人物。黑暗笼罩的小巷尽头，有一家人际罕至的照明商店，这里每天都会出现一些奇怪的人。商店的老板对于他们的到来一点都不惊讶，只是不停地擦着灯泡。但是他却告诫一位经常来店里买灯泡的少女要“小心陌生人”……指甲长在指腹上的女子，耳朵流出沙子的男人，全身湿透的司机，走不出胡同的小男孩……在这些人身上到底发生了什么事情？亮着的灯泡和坏掉的灯泡，这里就是分辨生命与死亡的《照明商店》。
