电影以一种不明原因的传染病蔓延导致世界荒废为背景，讲述了在世界上唯一的朋友“十月”陪伴下生存的“英雄”的故事。

Clemente 是一位不善言辞的放债者。他也是独身邻居Sofía的新希望。Sofia每年10月都虔诚地参加主的奇迹（Seigneur des Miracles）这一祭礼。当Clemente发现曾与自己来往的妓女刚为他生下一个女儿时，他便和Sofia开始了交往。Clemente寻找孩子母亲时，由Sofia负责照顾婴儿和他的生活起居。随着生命中的这两位不速之客的到来，Clemente开始反思自己与他人的关系。
