Images of a violent conflict between the government and Muslim demonstrators did not get past the censor. How can any film maker still show what is happening in his country? In view of the fact that anything can fall under this law, in Reincarnate he shows for the first time flowing sperm. In his previous films, homosexual love was always prominently, but not explicitly present. 活阎王（易原）派人抢夺陈家宝物—霹雳雄剑，陈父要哥哥继文（苏真平）与弟弟继武（江彬）带着雄剑离开。活阎王对两兄弟紧追不放，生死关头之际，盲眼侠现身救了继武，而继文则被神丐所救。 继文跟着神丐习武，并依神丐的指示，前去寻找失散的弟弟和和另一把霹雳雌剑，因为唯有练会雌雄剑上所记载的双剑六式，才能对付活阎王。继文在途中救了葛玉珍（碧差拉）并与她相恋。但葛父为了要让玉珍嫁给活阎王，将继文毁容并推下山谷。神丐又再度救了重伤的继文，神丐留下三颗大魂丹给继文后，便上路寻找能恢复容貌的灵草。继文因对现在的容貌感到自卑，从此改名断肠人。 继武因手中握有雄剑，所以遭到活阎王的追杀，盲眼侠为了掩护继武而被活阎王杀死。继武救了被活阎王手下骚扰的赵惠兰（李璇），却让自己身陷危机之中，幸得断肠人出手相助，但继武却不知断肠人就是继文，两人以师兄弟相称。继武从玉珍口中得知断肠人就是他哥哥，同时也发现惠兰拥有霹雳雌剑。跟踪继武的断肠人偷听到他们的对话，为了不让继武涉险，断肠人硬是将霹雳雌雄剑抢走。 继武、玉珍及惠兰找活阎王报仇，无奈三人武功不及被伤得厌厌一息，幸好断肠人及时赶到，用大魂丹替他们捡回一命。最后，断肠人以神剑六式击毙活阎王，寻得灵草的神丐也及时出现，还给继文原本的容貌。
