This is the first documentary film on the International College of Philosophy (Collège 　　international de Philosophie: CIPH), founded by, among others, Jacques Derrida and 　　François Châtelet in 1983 in Paris. The film consists of interviews with former presidents 　　Michel Deguy, François Noudelmann and Bruno Clément, current vice-president Boyan 　　Manchev, and with former and current program directors Catherine Malabou, Francisco 　　Naishtat and Gisèle Berkman. The aim of this film is to consider the possibilities of the 　　humanities in general and philosophy in particular under the current conditions of global 　　capitalism. Der Filmemacher Christoph Rüter erinnert sich an seinen philosophischen Lehrer Hans Blumenberg (1920-1996) und begibt sich mit zwei ehemaligen Kommilitonen auf eine Reise quer durch Deutschland, um auf den biografischen Spuren des Hochschullehrers die Faszination seines Denkens nachvollziehbar zu machen. Das Road Movie bleibt allerdings nicht beim Anekdotischen stehen, sondern unternimmt seriöse Versuche, Grundbegriffe von Blumenbergs Denken zu skizzieren. Eine sehr unterhaltsame, recht informative Annäherung an einen der produktivsten und einflussreichsten Köpfe seiner Generation. - Sehenswert ab 14.
