到哈佛大学法律系留学的贤宇（金来沅），在飞往美国的飞机上认识了珍雅（金玟）。到达美国之后的第一个晚上在酒店里又偶遇秀茵（金泰熙），并误把她当作妓女。贤宇找到了未婚妻韩瑟琪（郑率姬）的叔叔，哈佛法律系的教授吴永载（姜南吉），拜托他关照自己。在全体室友的聚会上又遇到了正民，并受到挑衅。然后是新生见面会，他再一次遇到了之前遇到的一些人，包括，秀茵、正民和珍雅，还有一位著名的律师詹姆斯。后者在派对上晕倒，受到秀茵的救治。 　　秀茵在一家又小又破的餐馆里找到了操劳干活的父亲。由于，没有地方休息，她只得来到图书馆，又遇到了一直误会她为妓女的贤宇，两人有些不愉快。第二天，贤宇在凯因斯教授的课上，受到老师冷落，在走投无路的情况下得到了瑟琪的帮助，为他请了补习老师。没想到补习老师竟然是秀茵。这着实使他大吃一惊，在秀茵的解释下，两人之间误会消除。在得知秀茵在繁忙的学习之余，既要打工赚钱还要担任爱滋病的志愿者的事实后，不得不佩服她的能力，并渐渐喜欢上她。在秀茵的帮助下，通过自己的努力争取，贤宇终于获得了在凯因斯教授课堂上听课的资格。 　　贤宇、正民因为都想和秀茵约会而互相竞争。贤宇为了接近秀茵申请参加了爱滋病的志愿者的活动。凯因斯教授在校内举办公开模拟法庭比赛。要求根据预先交上去的辩论文选拔参加比赛的两组。正民在准备比赛的过程中得到了珍雅的帮助。而贤宇则和同学们一起，为赢得比赛而努力着。无巧不成书，两组准备的辩论主题完全相同。凯因斯教授宣布，两组同样入选！在参加爱滋病的志愿者活动中，秀茵因为所照顾的患者的死而情绪忧郁。在贤宇的安慰下，转悲为喜。同时，贤宇冷不丁地试图吻她…… 　　正民看到秀茵和贤宇在一起，妒火中烧。一方面为公开模拟法庭做着积极的准备，同时，为了赢得比赛，对贤宇他们进行百般阻挠。贤宇生气之下找他评理，却遭到殴打。在得知贤宇的父亲是有名的金律师之后，正民更坚定了要赢得比赛的决心。贤宇也终于找到了赢取比赛的好想法。公开模拟法庭终于拉开帷幕，面对强大的对手，贤宇从容不迫。在最后关头，以决定性的理由战胜了对手。在秀茵和贤宇庆祝胜利的同时，正民从珍雅处得知，自己父亲的死与贤宇父亲有关的事实……
