為紀念人氣作品《高达》系列屆滿 30 周年，官方將結合動畫以及最新的 CG 技術，推出紀念短片《Ring of Gundam》。 　　《Ring of Gundam》以初代鋼彈的「一年戰爭」結束之後過了漫長時光的新世紀為背景，舞台則是位於月球軌道上的巨型殖民地「Ring」。隸屬於地球聯邦軍的主角「英次（暫譯，）」，某日在地球發現了名為「Beauty Memory（ビューティ・メモリー）」的物體，而故事的序端便就此展開…。 　　作品除了將由知名動畫監督 富野由悠季擔任原作、總監督並撰寫腳本之外，作品中的鋼彈設定則交由《高达》的機體設計大師 大河原邦男負責，音樂部分也交由知名的音樂人 菅野洋子擔綱製作。此外，男女主角則分別將由日本演員 川岡大次郎以及 平田裕香擔任配音。 　　動畫《Ring of Gundam》也已於日前在日本舉辦的「GUNDAM BIG EXPO」中公開了一小段的影片，影片中也出現了像是「阿姆羅的記憶（アムロの記憶）」等的關鍵字眼，目前作品則尚未公佈預定完成日期以及推出型式。
