The director seemed not to appreciate him and even he considered him as an error of casting.

Filmed like a documentary, "Sevillanas" consists of eleven short performances by Spain's most famous flamenco dancers, singers and guitarists. Saura, well-known for his flamenco films ("Blood Wedding," "Carmen"), here provides an in-depth look at the Sevillanas form of flamenco and its dancers.

Anna Azcona as Júlia provides the ideal foil to Marina's frenetic charisma – smoldering and quietly intense, she is floundering beneath her self-assured facade. 　　Sévigné offers the perfect antidote to the saccharine and superficial romantic comedies which fill the multiplex. Naturally, this film embraces the expected witty repartee and climactic emotions of the genre.
