SYNOPSIS 　　Yoon-mi and Min-wook, who married for two years, run a ranch together. The happiness is cut short when Ji-hoon, a cowherd, accidentally runs over Ji-hoon causing him sexually disabled. The tragedy destroys the couple and lands Ji-hoon in jail. After his release, Ji-hoon tries to make it up to the couple by working for them to compensate them for his mistakes but the harder he tries, Min-wook becomes more abusive. When Min-wook sees Ji-hoon and Yoon-mi work together, he becomes mentally unstable. He mistakes another couple to be his wife and Ji-hoon and shoots them with a rifle hurting them seriously. Min-wook is institutionalized and Ji-hoon and Yoon-mi realize that familial contentment and fulfillment of basic desires are two very different things. "Los tallos amargos" is a great example of film noir released out of USA. Following the tradition of classic Hollywood (the most brillant time in the history of cinema), this picture tell us the story of a poor journalist who, trying to make easy money, begins to work with an hungarian inmigrant. They start a fake journalism school and soon their pockets are full of dirty money. When the journalist begins to have suspects on your partner, the plot will become most than interesting. A perfect movie, a very good story. A picture that looks like any american film of that time.

Aging writer and philosopher, Zénon Ligre, comes to Bruges using a false name and papers to serve as a physician to the poor, establishing a clinic and steam bath. His methods and opinions are outside the mainstream, but he has the protection and friendship of the local Prior. Zénon, an aristocrat with a degree in canon law, lives humbly. He learns of bacchanals under Masonic signs involving monks and women, and he warns those involved. The Prior is dying, and he urges Zénon to flee to England. Zénon burns his writing. Will he leave or will he face ecclesiastical accusers and, perhaps, the stake?
