清末戊戌变法的风潮波及到天津，大清朝世道衰微。受维思想影响的唐青山(吕良伟饰)却把生意做得很兴旺，并且同才女施佩珍(颜丹晨饰)结下百年之好。正当唐家张灯结彩之时，突然清兵涌至，以“纠结康党，图谋朝政”的罪名抄家，唐家父子被捕入狱。后来唐父病死在狱中，唐青山永囚石牢。一日，唐青山的义弟费永嘉(王同辉饰)带唐青山的断指和戒指来见佩珍，告之青山大哥已遭难，后来佩珍与费永嘉结成夫妻。被关进石牢的唐青山昏迷后，发现自己左手中指被断，定情戒指不翼而飞，绝望中结识同狱中的一裹面怪人，此人自称是亲王，奇怪的是两人相貌竟有几分相像，更惊奇的是亲王左手也有一个断指，但亲王的断指用一个金手指装饰着。从此亲王教青山练习缩骨术，以便将来越狱。岁月流逝，世道巨变，慈禧已死，袁大总统继位。在亲王的帮助下，唐青山越狱成功。十五年后，破败不堪的唐府旧宅前，出现了一个左手带金手指的爱新觉罗的亲王，身边站着一个年轻漂亮的女子。此人是亲王，还是青山，这女子是谁，于是一个离奇好看的故事开始了……
