Après L’Héroïque Lande (la frontière brûle), La Lucarne a proposé à Nicolas Klotz et Elisabeth de faire un deuxième film, à partir de nouveaux rushs qui dialogueraient avec leur épopée contemporaine tournée dans la Jungle de Calais. 　　Fugitif où cours-tu ? commence là où se termine L’Héroïque Lande. Une fois la Jungle entièrement détruite et ses 12 000 habitants dispersés aux quatre coins de la France, un migrant d’Afrique marche seul sur les ruines de la lande. Est-il le dernier habitant à partir ? Ou un des premiers à revenir ? Il danse sur la plage. Sa danse réveille les vies, les abris, les feux, les labyrinthes, les voix, de cette ville surgie deux ans plus tôt de la boue. Et tout particulièrement les 3 semaines pendant lesquelles les habitants déplaçaient leurs maisons vers la Zone Nord pour échapper aux bulldozers et aux CRS qui détruisaient la Zone Sud. 　　Fugitif où cours-tu ? est le frère et la sœur électrique de L’Héroïque Lande.
