An isolated elderly woman, in desperate need of stimulation, conjures an infestation of silk-spinning caterpillars, thus leading her to a mind-bending epiphany. 'Caterpillar' is a cerebral drama, filmed in the historical Wynkoop House, famous for housing George Washington. The crew consists of highly esteemed artists working across a wide spectrum of disciplines. This includes special effects artist, Ben Bornstein (300, The Fighter), visual effects artist Greg Silverman (Black Swan), and editor, Corey Bayes (Haywire, Contagion, The Informant, Che). From storyline through production, Caterpillar is an ode to the creative process. This film is a must-see for anyone who has ever submitted to their imagination and felt transformed by an idea.

日本动画大师宫崎骏曾宣告隐退，并表示“属于我的动画时代已经结束了”，称此后每天仍会到工作室帮助后辈制作作品。7月10日，“吉卜力工作室”证实宫崎骏目前正在制作短篇动画《毛毛虫波萝》。与宫崎骏以往的作品不同，将全面使用CG制作。虽然长度只有10分钟，但完成则需要3年时间，宫崎骏对这种新挑战正充满激情。

Inspired by William Blake's 'Songs of Innocence and Experience', 'The Caterpillar and Fly' was produced with school pupils based on one of their true stories of an adult's attempt to shield a child's innocence from the realities of the world. In a busy modern home, Oscar, the youngest child of three, is a shy boy who confides in his beloved pet hamster Blaze and the only member of the family who can give him any time, his grandad Stan. One day while Oscar is at school, Stan finds Blaze motionless in his cage. Stan knows Oscar will be heartbroken so conjures up an elaborate plot to protect Oscar from grief. EAT is a guy sitting on a couch and eating what looks like bread rolls for more than half an hour. It's black and white and silent. If you've never seen one of Warhol's experimental films, this one might be a good place to start, but it might turn you off from seeing any more of them. Still, it's something you wont forget soon, it's a lot like the films from the 1890's just showing someone doing something mundane, except it goes on a lot longer. But art it is.
