秋田書店の青年向け漫画誌「ヤングチャンピオン」で連載された、こしばしげるの同題ヤンキーコメディコミックを約52分のOVA化。1994年には続編の『しばいたろか2』も製作されている。 　　は虫類のような三白眼をしたヤクザ顔をはじめ、その風貌で周囲を震え上がらせる大阪からの転校生・薬田大吾。だがその実態は「やっくん」と自称するほどファンシーなものを愛好。花を愛で、手芸をたしなみ、少女漫画を熱読するというのが彼の真の姿なのだ。そんなやっくんだが、一度怒らせると誰にも止められないほどの破壊力を発揮してしまい……。 　　本作の実制作はナック（ナック企画）が担当し、同社作品を多数手がけている木暮輝夫が監督を務めた。主人公の薬田大吾役として『稲村ジェーン』や後の『仮面ライダーキバ』などに出演の俳優・金山一彦、そしてヒロインの世羅愛美役には当時のAV女優・藤小雪が演じたことも話題に。

本剧以以两对情侣的感情轨迹作为故事主线，讲述了两对情侣在嘻哈打闹的生活过程中所发生的一系列尴尬却啼笑皆非的故事。以诙谐充满智趣的方式聚焦了整容、炒作、微商、雾霾、老夫少妻、碰瓷儿等当下热点话题。
