Driving home late at night during a heavy rainstorm, Glen experiences car trouble. Near where his car gets stuck, he spots a house, knocks on the door and is greeted by an oddly friendly middle-aged man, Arthur, and his younger wife, Cyndi. The strange couple pours him a drink, and then more drinks, followed by an unexpected offer that Glen can’t refuse. Elsewhere, a young woman, Katie, is feeling emotionally weighed down by a secret romantic arrangement that feels like a textbook case of gaslighting. 中医药作为中华民族的瑰宝，是中华优秀传统文化的代表性符号，是中国对世界文明的贡献。《东方医学》通过国际视角聚焦中医药主题，用现代科学解读中医药学原理。系列短片走进屠呦呦团队的青蒿研究中心实验室、中医医院诊室和病房、中药药材现代化种植基地和中医药博物馆、植物园等机构，邀请专业科研人员现场科普讲解，借助先进的科学仪器，带领观众深入了解中医药理论知识。每集短片关注一个主题，以生动精彩的故事内容串联起中医药历史沿革与当代传承，体现出中医药深厚的文化底蕴和科学价值。

北方某个大城市里，有一个按照国家相关法规设置的一个“CDC行动组”。我们着重表现的这个小组主要人物大概有五、六个，小的二十几岁、刚毕业的学医的大学生；最大的组长三十七八岁，国内读医学本科，留学博士，在世界著名实验室培训过。组里几个人是按照公共卫生各项需要专业配备的，每个人都是该方面的专家。 从现实层面看，这个小组是虚拟的，理想状态的一个行动组。是受国家CDC机构领导，面对全国公共卫生突发事件采取行动的小组。他们有自己的实验室，尖端的实验设备，有随时可以咨询的国内一流的专家组，有一流的高科技的通讯、信息处理、交通设备；事件发生时，各方面资源都有权力调动。 每一集的主要故事是一个公共卫生的突发事件，和少部分由此类事件引发的涉及到其他公共安全领域、治安领域的其他类型事件。
