这剧讽刺上流社会里种种丑陋的形态，现在介绍其中一种是靠「傍」。 　　在戏里父亲尚进 (野峰) 靠做「傍友」而发迹的人物，他有两个儿子：长子尚也文 (周聪) ，次子尚也武 (卢国雄) 。父亲寄望全放在长子身上，希望他能继承衣钵，靠「傍」维生，然而事非所愿，长子本性木讷，处处碰壁，一事无成。而次子就青出於蓝，本性比其父更狡猾，靠「傍」的技巧更高出一筹。父子三人靠著「傍」的技巧混入上流社会里，人生丑陋一面也活生生地呈现出来。
