A petty criminal and gambler, befriends a man who performs inspections of meat plants. His assistant suspects wrongdoings at the slaughterhouse.

Attempt to look at the Polish workers early seventies, their daily problems and concerns. After the protest in December 1970 years took place discredited Edward Gierek team and his companions, promising 'new Poland'. The workers, however, remain critical, suspicious, still eager to revolt. The original version of the film was never publicly shown.
