故事发生在“胡萝卜事件”后5年。 男主人公原野的父母在事件中被流浪犬灵所伤致死,人形宠的残暴给原野内心留下了严重的创伤。他独自生活在城市的平民区,以开“黑出租”为生,排斥一切人形宠。 　　一天一个奇怪的乘客被人追杀,将一个装有兔子的纸箱交付给原野保管,并约定过一段来拿回。夜晚,六只兔子变成了六名少女。原野因为对人形宠的烦感和排斥在加上生活压力,准备将其丢掉,但是由于种种原因都没有实现。而此时,尤里先生已经掌握原野收留六只兔灵的消息。但迫于人形宠不能攻击人类的公约,尤里组织分别采取了“偷取”、“设计诱骗”、“暴力抢夺”等方式致兔灵于死地。 　　原野在与兔灵的相处过程中,从最初对于所有人形宠的排斥到对人形宠有了客观认知,甚至与兔灵产生了微妙的情感,完成了自我的内心救赎。 　　原野最终决定与无辜的兔灵一同对抗尤里组织......
