廟街占卜師(甘國衛飾演)租住一個床位，住客品流複雜。一日，同屋陳伯兒子(譚榮傑飾演)帶回一個身懷六甲的陌生女人(倫志文飾演)，陳伯(凌漢飾演)氣沖沖被兒子趕出房間。兒子稱該女人是自己老婆，原來另有內情。女人找占卜師算命，占卜師預感到似乎將會有事發生。

近未来都市・香港。街のメインストリートにある、ちょっと怪しい巨大ビル「チョンキンマンション（重慶大厦）」。迷路のような通路に両替所や飲食店が並び、上階には格安ゲストハウスがひしめく。黒人やインド人など100か国以上の人々が行き交う、まさに巨大な人間交差点。移民排斥のニュースが世界を駆け巡る昨今、様々な国の人が入り乱れて暮らすチョンキンマンションから共存のあり方を考える3日間。
